Small building. Same paperwork.
Under 200 people at once, Martyn’s Law doesn’t apply. Fire safety, gas, electrics and insurance still do. Keep all of it in one place for £19 a month.
Small is £19 a month per building, or £190 a year. Unlimited people.

Sound familiar?
- We’re too small for software like this.
- It’s all in the secretary’s spare room.
- We only remember the extinguisher service when the engineer turns up.
- Nobody’s quite sure whether Martyn’s Law applies to us.
None of it is anyone’s fault. It’s what happens when the records live in drawers, inboxes and people’s heads.
Everything your building has to keep
Set up from a few questions about your building, so you start with the right list and nothing you don’t need.
- Fire risk assessmentreviewed every year
- Fire alarm testevery week
- Emergency lightingmonthly test, yearly full test
- Fire extinguishersmonthly look, yearly service
- Gas safety checkevery year
- Electrical inspection (EICR)every five years
- Portable appliancestested every year
- First aid kitchecked every month
- Public liability insurancerenewed every year
- Hire agreementwith fire instructions for hirers
Intervals are common practice. Where your own fire risk assessment says otherwise, it takes precedence.
How it works for small
Set up in about ten minutes
Answer a few questions about the building and the right checks are added, with their dates as the paperwork comes in.
Volunteers do their bit from a link
The weekly alarm test arrives by email; they record it from their phone. No account.
Hand it over in one link
To the insurer, the parish council or the next secretary: the whole record, dated.
- Main entrance on Church Lane.
- Meet at the war memorial.
- The key-holder checks the toilets and kitchen.
You only pay for what applies to you.
Martyn’s Law starts at 200 people at once, so it isn’t part of Small. Everything else your building keeps is: fire safety, gas, electrics, insurance and the checks behind them. If your busiest day ever reaches 200, Martyn’s Law is added.
Questions we hear
Is it worth £19 a month for a small building?
It’s less than most halls charge for an evening. For that, every check is reminded, every certificate is dated, and the record survives the next change of committee.
What isn’t included?
Martyn’s Law, contractor upload links and your own branding on the evidence pack. They come with Standard, from 200 people.
What if we get busier?
Change the capacity in Settings. The plan, and Martyn’s Law, follow automatically.
Can our volunteers use it?
They don’t need to sign in. A link by email opens on any phone and takes about a minute.
