A weekly test is what the fire service expects to see in the logbook.
A gap of a few weeks is the first thing an inspector asks about. So the checks come to you.
Set up for you
Alarm tests, emergency lights, extinguishers, fire doors, escape routes and the rest, at the intervals a building like yours keeps. The ones a contractor does are marked.

Reminders to the right person
Each check has a named person or a team. They get the reminder, with how to do it and why it matters. If it’s missed, the leads are told.
Set the alarm off from a different call point each week, check it sounds everywhere, then reset the panel. About three minutes.
Record itLogged from a link, approved by someone else
Volunteers record a check from the link on their phone, no account needed. Someone else approves it, so nobody signs off their own work.

Questions we hear
Do volunteers need an account?
No. They record a check from a link on their phone.
Can we change how often a check is due?
Yes. Intervals are common practice; set your own where your fire risk assessment says otherwise.
What if a check is missed?
Three days late, the leads are told, and it stays red until it’s recorded.
